Innovation From Design To Production
Advanced Engineering
Die-Max is a dedicated partner in new product development. Our team of engineers, program managers, and department leads are committed to collaborating closely, starting from the initial part and process designs. We begin by understanding the product’s essential features and applications, as well as identifying any associated risks that might influence the tooling concept.
Utilizing 3-D design tools, we’ll craft tailored solutions with an emphasis on cost efficiency, manufacturability, and consistent processes. Our team will leverage its engineering expertise and extensive experience in metal forming to craft a top-tier tool or process while minimizing expenses.
Project Management
When engaging with Die-Max, a Program Manager will be assigned, dedicated to the project’s success and best tooling interests in mind. The Program Manager will take charge of the project’s schedule. At the project’s outset, they will layout a detailed timeline, serving as the foundation for tracking the project’s progress from start to finish. This includes monitoring milestones such as PPAP & SOP approvals, where applicable.
The assigned Program Manager will also oversee any subcontractors or suppliers involved in the project’s supply chain, should we decide to award subcontracts for additional machinery or processes. They will provide regular updates on the project’s status, whether it pertains to prototypes, tool and gauge build, or advancements in automated welding, staking machines, or robotic carrying tools.
Our management team will conduct on-site visits to the facility, aiming to gain a comprehensive understanding of the assembly process while gathering essential information regarding the product’s fit and functionality and return this info to the team working on the project.
Following the launch of the product, our Quality Assurance (QA) department will uphold the highest quality standards during the manufacturing process. This is accomplished through the utilization of Faro Arm Laser Scanning and probing and other precise instruments.
We maintain consistent communication to facilitate an ongoing process of continuous improvement. If deemed necessary, we will work collaboratively to fine-tune aspects of the product’s design or build to ensure optimal performance and satisfaction.
Prototype Services
Die-Max has the ability and capacity to produce various prototypes upon request. Whether it’s a complicated deep draw prototype, a large stamping, or a short run of production parts, our team has the capability to stamp your parts on time and to your satisfaction.
Our stamping tools and processes offer many benefits over production tooling such as:
- More flexibility in design changes
- Lower initial tooling costs
- The ability to discover design engineering problems early
- Significantly shorter lead times than mass production tooling
In addition to prototyping, Die-Max has the capacity to offer short run and low volume
production services. These services become economical when production quantities are low and timing is tight. Typical production tooling can take months to build while our short run tooling can be finished in a matter of weeks or even days. This allows our customers to develop their parts and get to market faster. In many cases, our tooling and processes can support production runs of tens of thousands of pieces or greater. We can also offer annual order options with just-in-time (JIT) delivery to eliminate the need to reserve storage space.
Simulation & Engineering
While prototype creation is highly beneficial in designing parts and detecting errors before production, it can be time consuming and costly. Metal Stamping simulations are an ideal solution, removing the need to produce real products and prototypes to run tests. This process enables engineers to utilize specialized software to simulate the formation of sheet metal. Rather than discover errors in early production runs, stamping simulation makes it possible for engineers to find and eliminate many issues before machining a component.
The 3-D design tools we use enable us to create designs that simplify the manufacturing process. This simplicity is valuable in the production phase, reducing the likelihood of errors, speeding up production, and ensuring that the final product aligns with expectations.
Working through these design solutions, we enable the transformation of creative ideas into quality products.
Tooling & Die Manufacturing (Local & Offshore)
In order to continue to be competitive in an ever-changing global market, Die-Max builds all classifications of tooling in both the Canada and offshore. Throughout the new product development stage, Die-Max offers assistance with part design. While focusing on optimizing the design so it will run effectively and efficiently while maximizing the tool life. For all offshore projects, we take the lead on program management and put the customers mind at ease. We provide weekly timelines and progress reports to give the entire team clarity the current status of the project.
Quality Metal Stamping begin with a quality tool design. Tool and Die services play a crucial role in the manufacturing industry, providing essential expertise and solutions for the creation and maintenance of precision tools and dies. We work closely with our customers to gain a complete understanding of their needs and create custom, high-quality tools that are more reliable, last longer and produce better parts. We do this using:
- The latest integrated computer-aided design (CAD) and manufacturing (CAM) software.
- Highly skilled associates to execute the build in our state-of-the-art tooling facility.
